Odisha train accident happened on Friday last week where three trains, Shalimar-Chennai Coromandel Express, Bengaluru-Howrah super fast, and a goods train crashed into each other, leaving behind 278 dead and more than 1000 injured. It is considered one of the most tragic train accidents ever to happen in India. The world expressed condolences to the deceased families, and famous individuals offered their help after this accident.
The train accident happened in Odisha’s Balasore district at Bahanaga Bazar station. The Coromandel Express smashed a goods train first, which was on the same train track. The impact caused the carriages to overturn, including some onto another train, the Bengaluru-Howrah superfast express, which was also passing by at the same time on Friday. According to some railway officials, nearly 3,400 passengers were traveling at that moment, and some horrific stories were shared by the survivors of this accident on media channels.
In another tweet, Virender Sehwag praised the efforts of the rescue forces. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw called for a probe into this tragic accident. Some preliminary inquiry revealed that there was some problem with the rail line shifting to the loop line instead of the main line that caused this accident.
“Also salute all the brave men and women who have been at the forefront of the rescue operations and the medical team and volunteers who have been voluntarily donating blood . We are together in this,”
