England’s left arm spinner Jack Leach is out of Ashes series.

England and Australia’s most-awaited Ashes series is going to start soon this June 16 and last until July 31. There has been an injury crisis going on in England’s line-up, and the latest victim is Jack Leach, as the left-arm spinner has been diagnosed with a back stress fracture. England’s team has just finished the one-off test with a victory over Ireland by 10 wickets. Jack Leach got four wickets in the one-off test match, and during the match he developed the symptoms of the stress fracture, and a post-match diagnosis confirmed the injury. He is now ruled out of England’s team ahead of the Ashes test series.

Ben Stokes is going to lead the team in the five-match Ashes test series, and he recently recovered from the knee injury. He spent most of his IPL season staying in the dug-out; earlier, it was Jonny Bairstow who skipped the entire IPL 2023 due to injury. Jofra Archer is another name on that list. As of now, Jonny Bairstow and Ben Stokes are fit to play the Ashes, but Jofra Archer is still recovering. Youngster Josh Tongue will be seen in action this Ashes series. England’s team has yet to announce the replacement of Jack Leach.

Jack Leach is one of the most consistent bowlers since Ben Stokes took over as captain; he is the bowler with the most five-wicket haul, and it would be a real headache to get someone as effective as him, though there are players like Liam Livingstone or Will Jacks who could play a role as replacements, but these players are part-time options. Now, after the final of the WTC 2023, England’s campaign for the WTC 2023–25 cycle would get underway, and England would be hoping to start their performance on a positive note.

“The 31-year-old Somerset slow left-armer developed low back symptoms during England’s victory over Ireland on Saturday,”

“A scan on Sunday in London has revealed a stress fracture, which will keep him out of the forthcoming Ashes test series … England will announce a replacement for the Ashes series in due course.”
