Fans troll Barmy Army for their IPL winners post.
As Chennai Super Kings lifted the IPL 2023 trophy for the 5th time social media got flooded with messages and good wishes, from celebrities to politicians everyone congratulated MS Dhoni-led CSK for winning the trophy but there was one post that was heavily trolled by the cricket fans the post was of Barmy Army England’s cricket supporters club who mentioned just their countrymen in the congratulations post (Moeen Ali and Ben Stokes) for winning the IPL trophy, the point that is to be noted was both players had little to no contribution in the IPL 2023, in fact, Ben Stokes played just 2 matches this IPL season and made 15 runs in that, and rest of the season due to his Knee Injury he didn’t play.
Moeen Ali played 15 matches in the IPL 2023, scoring 123 runs, and his highest score this season was 23 runs. In bowling, he took 9 wickets, but his overall performance wasn’t that impactful despite the fact that the Chennai Super Kings came out as the king of the IPL arena for the 5th time. The contribution of the English players was not significant in the IPL 2023, but Barmy Army tried to reflect as if the contribution of the English players was a big one, which didn’t get the appreciation of the netizens, and they trolled them with no mercy.
This is not the first time Barmy Army got trolled by the cricket fans; it happened multiple times before as well. In 2022, when they posted a controversial post while wishing Happy Birthday to MS Dhoni, they went for the befitting reply every time, and this time as well, netizens didn’t miss the chance to troll them and filled their comment section with some of the most humorous replies.
