“Very happy that Ravindra Jadeja hit the winning shot”:- Suresh Raina
Former Indian and CSK’s star cricketer and T20 legend Suresh Raina heaped praise on Ravindra Jadeja for the way he played in the ultimate over of the match, when Chennai Super Kings required 10 runs in just 2 balls. Jadeja pulled the victory out of the jaws of defeat in the IPL 2023 final. Gujarat Titans batting first set a massive target of 215 runs for the four-time IPL title winners, but just when the chase started, a sudden deluge stopped the play, and the final extended to the third day as it started around 12 AM on May 30 after over 2 hours of rain, due to which the target to be chased was reduced to 171 runs in 15 overs for CSK.
Both top-order and middle-order batters contributed to the team’s victory over Gujarat Titans. The openers provided a good start, Rahane and Ambati Rayudu’s cameo narrowed the gap in the chase, and when CSK required 13 runs in the final over of the match, Jadeja ended the match in style by hitting 10 runs in the last 2 balls of Mohit Sharma’s over, who bowled brilliantly this season. Praising Ravindra Jadeja’s innings, IPL expert and former CSK batter Suresh Raina said that:
“I am very happy that Ravindra Jadeja got to hit the winning shot. The way he has been wanting to help the team to wins, hitting a six and a four after amazing dot balls from Mohit Sharma. I think this was sensational. You could see MS Dhoni hugging Jadeja in the dressing room. This is a massive moment, all of India was cheering them on. JioCinema was covering them, even the ground was yellow. Ravindra Jadeja has done something only sir Ravi Jadeja would!”
