Chennai team is a heavy favorite to win the title this year because of the all-round performance team kept giving in the whole tournament, and the other one is to give the best farewell to MS Dhoni because it is going to be his last season playing for the team in IPL and he will also going to be retired completely from cricket.
MS Dhoni gave credit to all the players who worked so hard for the 2 months and also praised their support staff, like the legendary player Bravo and Eric Owen Simons, who has been the assistant coach of CSK for the last 7 years. Dhoni also said that it’s not just another final. They will be playing because it was a long hard, working day, which made them reach the finals.
IPL is too big to say it’s just another final. Used to be 8 top teams, now it’s 10. I won’t say it’s just another final. It’s hard work of 2 months. Everybody has contributed. Yes, middle-order has not got ample opportunity. GT are a fantastic team and they’ve chased very well, so the thought was to get them in. But it was a good toss to lose.

Gujarat Titans stormed into finals after defeating Mumbai Indians by 62 runs, and once again, they will face Chennai Super Kings, who defeated them in the first qualifier of IPL 2023. Shubman Gill, the prince of cricket, showed the world once again why he is the best young talent in world cricket as he scored 129 runs in just 60 balls.
Gujarat played fantastic cricket against the Mumbai Indians, dominating the match the whole game with batting and bowling. Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings had faced each other four times in IPL. Gujarat won three matches against the Chennai side, but in the last match, Chennai won their first match against the Gujarat Titans, and that too in one of the most important matches, qualifier one.
The two teams’ first game was played on April 17, 2022, at Pune, India’s Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium. The second encounter between these teams was on May 15, 2022, in Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium in India. Gujarat easily defeated the opposition by 7 wickets, and Wriddhiman Saha earned Player of the Match honors for his outstanding effort. He collected two catches behind the stumps and scored 67 runs in 57 balls. In that game, Mohammad Shami picked up two wickets. Ruturaj Gaikwad was the only standout player for the Chennai Super Kings during the game, scoring 53 runs in 49 balls.
The third match they both played was the first of the IPL season 2023, in which Gujarat Titans won by 5 wickets. It was a thrilling match that went on to the last over of the game, and it was no other than Rahul Tewatia and Rashid Khan who were able to score some valuable runs and took their team for the 1st win of the season. Shubman Gill scored 63 runs in that match on just 36 balls, and from the Chenna Super Kings side, Ruturaj Gaikwad made an effortless 92 runs in 50 balls.
The last match favored Chennai as they won by 15 runs, and it was a comfortable win for them because they dominated most of the match. The opening pair of Chennai once again scored the most amount of runs, and the bowling did quite well as every bowler in the Chennai side took wickets.

The ground is still heavily batting-friendly, but since four matches have already been played there, there may be some opportunity for spinners in the next game because it will become dryer as more games are played. Most of the Gujarat Titans’ batsmen are technically proficient batters who can hit and utilize the spacious ground to take off singles and doubles, which benefits the Titan’s team.
The last match between Gujarat Titans vs Mumbai Indians had a batting-friendly pitch as most batsmen who waited for the right bowl to hit played a big inning just like Shubman Gill played, but players who did not spend time on the pitch and went for a big shot from the first ball mostly failed.
The ball swings a bit but not that much, and in the final, the unused pitch will be selected as it is an IPL final, but there is a bit of chance of rain that can give some assistance to the pace bowlers in the initial overs but also hurt spinners more because it will hard to grip the ball.

Chennai Super Kings are going in as the favorite to win the cup, but they have already lost 5 times in the finals of the IPL. They need to be confident in what they are doing and not take things easy, and big match player like Moeen Ali and Devon Conway needs to give their best performance so they can give the team a chance to lift the title for the 5th time.
The middle order of the Chennai team is still not performing well, and most of the runs are being scored by the openers of Chennai Ruturaj Gaikwad and Devon Conway. Shivam Dube contributed in every match but not playing any big innings. Ajinkya Rahane and Moeen Ali need to score runs if they wanna give their team a chance to win the final of the IPL.
Last 3-4 games in Chennai have been different. First few games wicket was better. Have had to adapt. Look to rotate strike, capitalise on loose deliveries. Both are great players (Conway and Faf). Faf was someone who was aggressive from ball one. Conway has great batsmanship. I would say the knock of 60 (what was more satisfying – 60 or the catch).

1-Ruturaj Gaikwad will be the first player to watch out against the Gujarat Titans in the final of IPL after playing an amazing knock of 60 runs in the qualifier one on a slow track like MA Chidambaram. The Ahmedabad track is going to favor him and his free-flowing batting style, and after Shubman Gill, he is also one of the most consistent run scorers in the IPL and maybe a future partner of Gill for the Indian cricket team.
2- Ravindra Jadeja can be the most important player for the Chennai Super Kings, but there is one drawback of playing on the Ahmedabad pitch is that Jadeja will not be going to get assistance from the pitch, and when Jadeja does not get any help from the pitch, his bowling seems quite normal.
3- Matheesha Pathirana will be the most important bowler for the Chennai side because the way he uses the variation in his bowling will be crucial on the batting-friendly track, and in the last match against Gujarat Titans, he took two wickets.

1-Shubman Gill will be the most important player for the Gujarat side as he gave another breathtaking performance in the last match against Mumbai Indians. He scored the 3rd century of the season, and it was his 3rd century in the last 4 matches of IPL. He was also the top scorer against the Chennai Super Kings in the qualifier one, but this time, he will be at his favorite ground.
For me, it is playing ball to ball, over to over. The over where I hit three sixes gave me the momentum to go big. That’s when I realised it could be my day. It was a good wicket to bat on as well. Not a conscious decision, you keep inventing as a batter but for me the belief is more important. I am coming off a good international season as well. Had a good season last time as well.
When I start well, I feel confident I can score well. From the last WI tour, I think I have shifted a gear, I got injured before the last IPL but I have been working on my game. I have worked on a few areas and made technical changes ahead of the NZ series after the T20I World Cup. Expectations are something that follow you outside the ropes, but once you step on the field it is all about trying how to contribute for the team. I think this was probably my best innings so far in the IPL.

2- Mohit Sharma is the guy who has not been praised much in the IPL for his amazing bowling performance, as he took 5 wickets in the last match against Mumbai Indians. He has 24 wickets now in the IPL 2023, and that too in just 13 matches. He will be the player who can surprise anyone in the match, just like he is doing this season.
3- Hardik Pandya can once again give the player of the match performance in the final of the IPL just like he did last year because, in the last match, he bowled 2 overs, and if there is a bit of swing or moisture, then he can swing the ball well. The way he batted in the last match was the type of performance the Gujarat Titans needed from him.
The IPL 2023 finals can’t get bigger now because it is between the two players who did so well for the Indian team. On one side, there is a legendary captain who gave all success to his team; on the other, there is a young captain who holds the key to the team’s future success.
