Carlos Alcaraz became ranked 1st in the ATP Ranking after Novak Djokovic dropped to third place
The Spanish professional Tennis player Carlos Alcaraz jumped to rank 1st in the ATP current Ranking, and he became the youngest player in the Men’s single to become ranked 1st worldwide.
Alcaraz is now 20 years old, and in 2020, he had an ATP debut at the age of 16 in the men’s singles. He defeated Albert Ramos Vinolas. However, recently Carlos suffered a defeat in the round of 32 in the Italian Open but was still able to surpass Novak Djokovic.
“It’s great you know to be world No. 1, you know, in Roland-Garros, in a Grand Slam, it’s something crazy. I couldn’t believe it years ago. I am really happy, but for me, it doesn’t change too much to be world No. 1 or the No. 2 seed,” said Alcaraz.
“I just focus on the tournament, on my game, on every match, and that’s something that I try not to think about. But of course, it’s something great to be No. 1,”

The French Open draw will be on May 25th, 2023, in which there is a huge chance that Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic will be seeded in the same bracket, which means there is a chance that they will play Semi-Final match against each other because they are the top 2 contenders to win the Roland Garros 2023.
Rafael Nadal is already out of the French Open due to injury, and Andy Murray also withdrew himself becuase of want to focus on the grass court, which gave Carlos a huge chance to win the French Open after being defeated in the same tournament last year in the Quarter-Final by Alexander Zverev 6-4, 6-4, 4-6, 7-6 in favor of Alexander.
Novak Djokovic already praised Carlos Alcaraz before the Italian Open and French Open starts.
He’s going to be number one after this tournament whatever happens. Deservedly so,” “He has been playing some very impressive tennis, a great level. He’s the player to beat on this surface, no doubt.
“Of course, it depends on if Nadal is going to play in the French Open or not. But Alcaraz is one of the top favourites without any dilemma.
