Tom Moody praises Rinku Singh and compared him with Michael Bevan and Michael Hussy.
Rinku Singh, the left-handed batter of the Kolkata Knight Riders, has now gained the media’s attention after the southpaw got praised by Australian cricket legend Tom Moody recently while talking to ESPN Cricinfo. Rinku Singh has come out as the most exciting player to watch in IPL 2023, as he has played some extra-ordinary innings for his team and becomes the true epitome of anything that is possible through hard work and dedication. Cricket fans saw his caliber to win the match for his team when he hit five sixes in the final over of the match against Gujarat Titans, which looked impossible when your team needed 29 runs in the last over, but he pulled the victory from the jaws of defeat.
Since then, he has become one of the frequent names that cricket aficionados mention, and recently, while playing their last league stage match against Lucknow Super Giants, he almost did another miracle for his team by making 19 runs in the final over when his team required 21 runs to win but lost by just 1 run. Lucknow Super Giants qualified for the playoffs, while Kolkata Knight Riders got eliminated from the playoffs race.
Tom Moody while praising Rinku Singh said that:
“He’s got the game. He’s got a strong foundation to his game. We talked previously about how it is no coincidence that he has taken this opportunity to play every single game with both hands. Because he’s got pedigree. He averages nearly 60 in first-class cricket. He has played a lot of first-class cricket. He has got a strong foundation.”
Tom Moody added to his statement that Rinku Singh has the needed composure and strategic mind to play the role of finisher.
Look, I don’t know him personally, I’ve never worked with him, but just as an observer and a fan, I look at it and think this guy’s composed. He’s in control. And I’ve seen that before in players historically like Michael Bevan, who I’ve played quite a bit of cricket with. In 50-over cricket, he had that trait of just you’re thinking the games getting away from him but he’s got it absolutely under control. Mike Hussey of more recent than Michael Bevan. They seem to just understand how to finish a game in a very calm and composed way,
