England batter Liam Livingstone recently caught attention after his team’s last match in the league stage of the IPL due to his reaction after getting out as he smiled right after he got dismissed in the over of Navdeep Saini. Punjab Kings, which Liam Livingstone plays for in the IPL, had a do-or-die match with Rajasthan Royals, which was also the last league stage match of both teams. It was a last over thriller, but Rajasthan Royals managed to win the match and keep their playoff hopes alive. But the moment that gave social media users a point of discussion was when Liam Livingstone got out.

Liam Livingstone, while trying to be fancy in the over of Navdeep Saini, failed miserably as the ball hit on his cricket pad upper area, leaving him in pain. But the moment was about to come as in the next ball of the over, Navdeep Saini took his wicket while he was trying to deposit the ball in the stands. He was bowled by Saini, and Livingstone, after getting dismissed, smiled while going towards the pavilion. The reaction given by Livingstone was not much appreciated by the cricket fans and some known cricket broadcasters, one of them being Akash Chopra.

Akash Chopra on his YouTube channel expressed his disappointment towards Livingstone’s reaction after getting out in a match that is so important for your team to qualify for the playoffs. In the video he uploaded, he was reviewing the match (PBKS vs. RR) and while sharing some stats, he said:

“The shot played by Liam Livingstone and then walked away laughing and didn’t come out to field, if an Indian batter had done that, we would have talked about his attitude. It slightly defines how your season has been.”
