Legendary Indian cricketer Sunil Gavaskar has praised Lucknow Super Giants’ captain Krunal Pandya for his captaincy and the cricket skills he has after he and his team snatched the victory in their last home game of the IPL 2023 at BRSABV Ekana Cricket Stadium against Mumbai Indians in a last-over thriller. Sunil Gavaskar applauded Krunal Pandya for his game-reading skills, as the latter has the ability to make calculative decisions at the right time, praising him. Sunil Gavaskar added

“Whatever I have seen of Krunal Pandya, he is a terrific reader of the game. Before he was the captain, he used to play for Mumbai Indians, even there his reading of the game, of the situation is great. He bowls a different sort of line depending on the batters’ strength so that is all about being aware and also about the fact that he reads the opponents well, he reads his own game well,”

Krunal Pandya, while captaining the Lucknow Super Giants, backed Mohsin Khan in the last over as the Mumbai Indians required only 11 runs with their two explosive batters on the crease, Cameron Green and Tim David, who were looking in good touch and had already shown his power of hitting big sixes in the match. Mohsin Khan wasn’t that impressive in the match till the last over, where he not only secured the runs but also gained two crucial points for his team.

Lucknow Super Giants need to win their last match to secure their place in the playoffs, and if they do so in their final league stage game against Kolkata Knight Riders, then they will qualify for their second consecutive IPL playoffs. Krunal’s younger brother has already taken his team to the IPL playoffs, and he could also lead his team to the playoffs.
