Indian wrestlers, led by Bajrang Punia, Sakshi Malik and Vinesh Phogat, are protesting against Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh's alleged sexual harassment, as they fight for justice with the support of Indian Olympic Association (IOA) and Wrestling Federation of India (WFI)

Indian wrestling‘s top players continue to fight Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, the former Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chief, who has been accused of sexual harassment. Following the Indian Olympic Association’s (IOA) decision to take charge of all WFI activities, wrestlers such as Bajrang Punia, Sakshi Malik and Vinesh Phogat have been protesting at the Jantar Mantar for 22 days.

The wrestlers’ fight has become a cause célèbre in India, with many people taking to social media and other platforms to voice their support. The wrestlers hope that their efforts will result in justice being served.

The IOA’s decision was the protesters’ first step in their fight against Brij Bhushan and has been welcomed by the community. The former WFI chief is accused of gross misconduct, including sexual harassment of women wrestlers, misappropriation of funds, and other irregularities.

At the protest site on Sunday,

the wrestlers discussed the IOA’s decision and its implications. Bajrang Punia, who was leading the protest, thanked everyone for their support and praised the step taken by IOA. He also expressed his hope that more steps will be taken to ensure justice is served and that Brij Bhushan is held accountable for his actions.

Sakshi Malik, who won a silver medal at the Rio Olympics in 2016, said the wrestlers would continue their protests until justice is served. She urged everyone to stay vigilant and keep up the fight for justice.

Vinesh Phogat also joined the protest on Sunday and thanked everyone for standing with them in their fight. She said that it is only with collective efforts that justice can be achieved.

The wrestlers’ fight is not just about Brij Bhushan, but also a fight against the culture of impunity which has been pervasive in India’s wrestling community for far too long. The protesters have vowed to continue their protests until justice is served and are showing no signs of backing down.
