RCB’s Anuj Rawat’s acrobatics behind the wicket remind cricket fans of MS Dhoni.
The left-handed batter of Royal Challengers Bangalore, Anuj Rawat, in the 60th match of the IPL 2023 did something amazing behind the wicket to dismiss Ravichandran Ashwin of the Rajasthan Royals. While keeping behind the wickets, Anuj Rawat replicated MS Dhoni’s style of doing the run-out just by guiding the coming cricket ball towards the wicket, which cricket fans often term the no-look run-out technique of MS Dhoni. Anuj Rawat perfectly executed MS Dhoni’s no-look run-out technique to dismiss R. Ashwin. He, while standing behind the wicket and keeping his back towards the wicket, guided the cricket ball thrown by Mohammed Siraj towards the wicket, and R. Ashwin fell short of the crease by a few meters.
While playing first, RCB managed to put 171 runs on the scoreboard, to which Rajasthan Royals were all out after making just 59 runs in their innings. The bowlers of RCB ran havoc at Sawai Man Singh Stadium, and the batters of Rajasthan Royals kneeled to the bowling attack of RCB, but the moment that left the people in awe was the acrobatics shown by the young left-handed batter of RCB, Anuj Rawat, who was playing a wicketkeeper in RCB.
In the eighth over of the Rajasthan Royals innings, when RR was 49-6, Shimron Hetmyer, after hitting Karn Sharma for three consecutive sixes, cut the ball towards deep point, and Ashwin, in a hurry to take a double, came out of his crease after taking a single. Mohammed Siraj threw the ball towards the wicket-keeping end, and Anuj Rawat, turning his back towards the wicket, perfectly guided the coming cricket ball towards the wicket and took Ashwin’s wicket. RCB managed to overpower Rajasthan Royals at their home ground and won the match with a thumping victory of 112 runs, which helped RCB secure their sixth win in this IPL season so far.
