GT vs SRH Match Prediction: Gujarat Titans vs Sunrisers Hyderabad, 62nd Match of IPL 2023

GT vs SRH Match Prediction: Gujarat Titans will look for the win to secure their place in the playoffs.

GT vs SRH Match Prediction: Gujarat Titans will host Sunrisers Hyderabad at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad, Gujarat, on May 15th, 2023.

Gujarat Titans will look to qualify for the playoffs in their next match against Sunrisers Hyderabad, who are already out of the IPL season 2023.

Gujarat Titans lost their last match against the Mumbai Indians by 27 runs after Rashid Khan’s heroic performance, which made everyone realize that he is not just a bowling allrounder anymore. He scored an emphatic 79 in just 32 balls in which he hit 10 sixes and 3 fours, but the required run was impossible to be chased when he came to the crease. He also took 4 wickets in the match.

Suryakumar Yadav made a century by smashing down Gujarat Titans bowlers out of the ground except Rashid Khan. The Gujarat team needs to understand that it’s not done yet and should keep focusing on their next which is against the Sunrisers Hyderabad, who might give a chance to new players in their squad because they are already out of the IPL season 2023.

The Gujarat Titans team failed in their last match against Mumbai, and except for Rashid Khan, no one contributed anything, and that is what Hardik Pandya said in his post-match presentation.

Felt like from our team only he (Rashid) turned up. The way he batted, the way he bowled, it was tremendous. Don’t have to try much (after this result). As a group we weren’t there. In bowling also we were very flat. Didn’t have clear plans or didn’t execute. Wicket was very flat but I felt we gave 25 runs extra.

Hardik Pandya Said in the Post Match presentation.

Sunrisers Hyderabad lost their last match against the Lucknow Super Giants by 7 wickets, or you can say it was Aiden Markram who gave away the match by giving one over to Abhishek Sharma, who conceded 5 sixes that turned around the whole match.

The match was in the hands of the Sunrisers Hyderabad till the 2nd timeout when Lucknow Super Giants needed 13+ required run rate, but after Marcus Stoinis and Prerak Mankad speeded up the innings, and then Aiden Markram took the worst decision by choosing Abhishek Sharma over Mayank Markande to bowl the 15th over of the match in which he conceded 31 runs off the over. That made the task for Prerak and Nicholas Pooran easy, and they won the match before 4 balls.

Aiden Markram himself said in the post-match presentation that he was not the right man for the captaincy job, which is true because he made many wrong decisions in the whole IPL season 2023, but also the team management must also take full credit for it because they did not give many talented player chances which cost them early exit from the IPL season 2023.

GT vs SRH: Head-to-Head Record

Gujarat Titans and Sunrisers Hyderabad played 2 matches against each other in IPL, in which both won 1-1. The last match between the two sides was played on April 22nd, 2022, at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai, where Gujarat Titans won by 5 wickets.

It is going to be their first match of the Indian Premier League season 2023 which will be played at Narendra Modi Stadium, and Gujarat Titans will be heavy favorites to win the match against the Sunrisers, who will play for their pride now.

GT vs SRH: Pitch Report of Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad

Match Played16
Batting first won8
Batting second won8
Average 1st innings score183
Pace bowlers took127 wickets
Spiner bowlers took65 wickets

The last match played on this ground was between Gujarat Titans vs Lucknow Super Giants, which was a high-scoring match. Spinners not got any turn from the pitch, and even the pace bowlers were helpless in the match.

The ground is still heavily batting-friendly, but since four matches have already been played there, there may be some opportunity for spinners in the next game because it will become dryer as more games are played. Most of the batsmen on the Gujarat Titans’ side are technically proficient batters who can hit and utilize the spacious ground to take off singles and doubles, which benefits the Titan’s team.

There was a bit of extra bounce on the pitch, which helped the pace bowlers to surprise the batsmen with a sharp bouncer. The ball was coming on the bat quite well, and the power hitting by the batsmen was easy, which is why Gujarat Titans were able to hit 227 runs in 20 overs.

Team Preview of Gujarat Titans

Gujarat Titans are at the top of the table and missed their chance to qualify for the playoffs in their last match against the Mumbai Indians as they lost the match by 27 runs, and the whole team was a flop except Rashid Khan.

Gujarat Titans should not take the remaining Two matches lightly, as they are still not qualified for the playoffs and need to keep their focus one match at a time.

Rashid Khan was exceptional in the last match as he took 4 wickets and played an explosive innings of 79 in just 32 balls. If 1-2 players contributed in the match from the Gujarat Titans side, then it would be a closer match for them, but no one except Rashid did anything for the team that cost them a huge loss. He also made a record of being the highest scorer batter at the 8th or lower down position.

David Miller and Vijay Shankar scored a bit, but it was not enough for the Gujarat Titans, and now Gujarat batters need to step up because soon they will play the playoffs match, and any mistake will eliminate the team from the Title hope of back to back IPL trophy win.

Hardik Pandya needs to take wickets for the team if they want to compete for more in the match as this year Hardik only took 3 wickets in the 9 innings he bowled, which is not a good figure for a bowler like Hardik, who did quite well in a last season of the IPL.

Wriddhiman Saha needs to be more consistent with scoring runs because this season, he only scored 275 runs in 12 innings. However, Saha has been a big match player in IPL, and he is also one of the players who have been playing in IPL since the 1st season. His role is very clear to hit every ball. It will be an important match against the Sunrisers Hyderabad, and Gujarat needs to give their all.

Team Preview of Sunrisers Hyderabad

Sunrisers Hyderabad are out of the IPL season 2023, and the next 3 matches for them will be something they can use to test players who are not given a chance in the IPL. Sunrisers should also try to give the captaincy to Rahul Tripathi for the next 3 matches or to someone else like Bhuvneshwar Kumar because Aiden Markram is not confident in his captaincy job, which he already said in the post-match presentation.

The team doesn’t have any confidence in their captain, and Aiden Markram also seems not to be backing his players or motivating them during the whole season of the IPL. The team management needs to be changed because they are not worth being in the IPL as the first and most bizarre thing they did was not buy an all-rounder in the auction, and it is no brainer that All-Rounders are one of the most important players who help the team to win the match because then Captain has an extra option in both departments.

The second worst decision which Sunrisers took was bidding for Harry Brook, and that too for 13 Crore, which went a total waste because Brook is not the sort of player who is meant to be in the T20 squad. He is very skilled in test cricket, and giving him so many chances instead of giving Glenn Philip was another wrong decision by the team.

Sunrisers Hyderabad did not give Adil Rashid game time in the IPL season after he bowled quite decently in the few match of IPL and had a great World Cup tournament. Akeal Hosein should have been more used in playing XI, and the team unity was totally off the chart in the IPL season 2023.

It is a time now that Sunrisers give more chances to players who have not played in the IPL season 2023 yet, so in the future, they will have more options to be a better team.
