Inter Milan On Course for Champions League Final After Defeating AC Milan 2-0.

Inter Milan took a giant stride towards the Champions League final on Wednesday night as they beat AC Milan 2-0 in the first leg of their semi-final clash at San Siro. Antonio Conte’s men were clinical and disciplined, putting together an impressive defensive performance to keep their arch rivals at bay for much of the match.

Romelu Lukaku and Achraf Hakimi were the heroes of the night, scoring two goals in three minutes early in the second half to secure a comfortable victory. While Inter had been second-best for much of the match leading up to those strikes, they seemed galvanized by the goals and went on to dominate proceedings thereafter.

Milan had a few chances to get back into the game, but Inter kept their nerves in check and never looked in danger of conceding. Brahim Diaz and Junior Messias both came close after the break, but neither could find a way past Samir Handanovic who was once again in stunning form between the sticks.

The result leaves Inter in a commanding position ahead of the second leg, which will be played at their own Giuseppe Meazza Stadium. Given their recent form and impressive defensive displays, it looks increasingly likely that Conte’s side will become the first Italian team to reach the Champions League final since 2010.
