Kamaljit Kang, President of Canada’s Kabaddi Federation, Shot in Surrey Attack

Canadian authorities are investigating after Kamaljit Kang, the president of Canada’s Kabaddi Federation, was shot multiple times outside his home in the Beer Creek area of Surrey on Friday.

Kang, who is widely known as a promoter of the Kabaddi game in Canada, was reportedly hit by two bullets during the attack. While several shots were missed, one bullet struck him in his stomach and another on his leg. Kang was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment following the incident.

Surrey RCMP has released a statement on the shooting incident. “We are investigating the shooting of Mr Kang and gathering information about what happened in order to determine who is responsible,” said Sergeant Chad Greig, a spokesperson for the police force.

The police investigation into the attack is still in its early stages and no suspects have been identified yet. According to local reports, the assailants managed to flee before the police arrived at the crime scene.

Kang has been involved with Kabaddi in Canada since 2006 and was elected as president of Canada’s Kabaddi Federation in 2018. The Federation, which works for the promotion of kabaddi in the country, stated that they are deeply concerned about the attack on their president.
