Shubhman Gill would be the voice of the Indian Spider-Man

India’s star right-handed batter and Gujarat Titans opening sensation, Shubhman Gill, is gaining a lot of media and cricket fans attention this time not for his cricket performance but for his voiceover in the upcoming animated movie Spiderman: Across the Spider-Verse. The Indian batter is going to give his voice in the movie in Hindi and Punjabi languages.

The upcoming movie is the sequel to the Spiderman: Into the Spiderverse movie released in 2018, and Sony Pictures India will release the movie in India. The plot of the movie is simple, as the main character Miles Morales (Spiderman) goes across the Spiderverse and meets other Spider-mans; one of them is Pavitr Prabhakar (Indian Spiderman), to whom Shubhman Gill has given his voice.

The movie is all set to release in 10 languages across India: English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Punjabi, Gujarati, Marathi, Bengali, Kannada, and Malayalam. Shubhman Gill expressed his views on the voice-lending part and said that he relates to the character so much as he grew up watching Spider-Man, and while he was doing the voice over for the Indian Spider-Man, he was feeling like a superhero.

The movie sequel also featured the voices of many renowned actors, such as Oscar Isaac, Shameik Moore, and many others. Meanwhile, there are people who are questioning Gill’s appearance in the movie as a voiceover artist, “as he is not a professional in this niche, and as a sportsperson, he needs to focus on the game”, that’s what the people are saying.

Only time will tell whether the voiceover done by Shubhman Gill is on point or not once the movie hits theaters on June 2.

“I have grown up watching Spider-Man, and he is one of the most relatable superheroes. Since the movie will be debuting the Indian Spider-Man for the first time on screen, getting to be the voice of our Indian Spider-Man, Pavitr Prabhakar, in the Hindi and Punjabi languages was such a remarkable experience for me. Already, I feel superhuman. I am eagerly anticipating the release of this movie.”
